Scope
Algological Studies publishes peer reviewed, original scientific papers of international significance
from the entire field of phycology: taxonomy, systematics and floristics, physiology,
biochemistry, genetic studies, hydrobiology, phytogeography, cultivation. This includes contributions to algal
biotechnology and applied phycology.
Algological Studies is an ideal platform to collect and publish special issues from conferences, covering all
fields of phycology.
Algolgical Studies has been uninterruptedly published since its first issue, which was released in 1968
as a supplement series of Archiv für Hydrobiologie.
Beginning in 2007, Algological Studies is published and edited as an independent journal.
Algological Studies is covered and indexed in Thomson Reuters products Biological Abstracts and BIOSIS Previews.

Regular subscriptions include free access to the online version. Algological Studies also participates in CrossRef which allows direct access to referenced papers which are available online.
