Descriptions and distributions of thirteen species belonging to five genera of Ulotrichales: Cylindrocapsa Reinsch, Microspora Thuret, Schizomeris Kützing, Ulothrix Kützing and Uronema Lagerheim are given. Among these species, four [Microspora loefgrenii (Nordstedt) Lagerheim, Microspora quadrata Hazen, Ulothrix fimbriata Bold, and Uronema elongatum Hodgetts] are new to the Indian flora and five additional species [Microspora pachyderma (Wille) Lagerheim, Ulothrix subconstricta G. S. West, Ulothrix variabilis (Kützing) Kützing, Uronema africanum Borge and Uronema confervicolum Lagerheim] are new records for West Bengal. The new species Uronema subelongatum sp. nov. is described as new to science.
