Abstract Gels of different compositions in the feldspar system, BaAl2Si2O8 - KAlSi3O8 - NaAlSi3O8, were crystallised at temperatures of 650 to 900°C and pressures of 1 to 3 kbar. A region containing two feldspars was observed near the albite-corner of the ternary diagram, whereas the Ba-rich and K-rich feldspars were found to be homogeneous. Preliminary results on the variations of two lattice parameters, volume and β-angle, with composition are presented in two ternary diagrams
