The role of time on the formation and development of giant ore deposits is considered from the point of the deposits affiliation to different periods of geological time. In addition, the time necessary for the formation of a single deposit is also considered. It is demonstrated that in the development of compatible element deposits a significant role was played by the Archaean and early Proterozoic stages in the concentration of these elements while for incompatible element deposits the main factor was the intensity of fractionation and other magmatic processes.
