Abstract

The present paper reviews the main results of studies carried out in Uzbekistan in the years of 1996-1999 under the project "Interrelations between Deep Lithospheric Structure and Metals Concentrations", funded by the State Committee on Science and Technique of Uzbekistan. This work contributed, at the same time, to the international project IGCP-354 "Economic Superaccumulations of Metals in the Lithosphere". A more extensive summary of the results has been presented in an English-written document. Additional information can also be found in several papers either based on or related to the above project. The investigations have been carried out in two regions of Uzbekistan: in the Almalyk-Angren region, and in Central Kyzylkums. These regions provide nearly 100% of ore output of the Republic (gold, silver, copper, fluorite, uranium) and ensure the 7-8th place in world production.
