A rich but low-diverse ostracod assemblage of Early Jurassic age is described from the Glasenbach Gorge section, Austria. It is dominated by bairdioid taxa but lacks other elements common in coeval sections and shows closest similarity to assemblages described from the Early Jurassic of Hungary and Turkey. An outer neritic to upper continental slope depth habitat is proposed indicating a depth in the range of 250 to 500 meters.
