Abstract (German)
Zusammenfassung. Es wird eine kurze Übersicht über die Stufen der höheren Oberkreide (Coniac-Maastricht) in Großbritannien gegeben, dann wird der Abschnitt Coniac-Campan in Südengland im Detail beschrieben. Ein multistratigraphisches Schema, bestehend aus lithostratigraphischen Standardprofilen, Makrofossil- und Foraminiferen-Biostratigraphie, wird vorgestellt und die bedeutenderen Faunenschnitte werden diskutiert. Für Großbritannien wird eine neue Foraminiferen-Zonierung, die auch für Europa anwendbar ist, vorgeschlagen; diese basiert auf den Gattungen Stensioeina und Bolivinoides. Weiterhin wird eine biostratigraphische Gliederung nach lokalen Foraminiferen - Vergesellschaftungen vorgeschlagen.
Abstract
The Coniacian - Maastrichtian stages in the U. K. are briefly reviewed and the Coniacian - Campanian of southern England is described in detail. An integration of lithostratigraphy, macrofossil, and foraminiferal biostratigraphy is presented for selected Standard sections and the major bioevents discussed. A scheme of foraminiferal biozones, based on evolutionary changes within the genera Stensioeina and Bolivinoides, is proposed for the U. K. and is considered readily applicable in Europe generally. A scheme of local foraminiferal assemblage biozones is also proposed.
