Dinoflagellate cyst analysis of the basal London Clay of southern England

Abstract
Analysis of dinoflagellate cyst assemblages from selected sections in the London Clay basement-bed of the Hampshire and London Basins has shown that the unit is distinctly diachronous, ranging from the Apectodinium hyperacanthum Zone in Essex and Kent to the Wetzeliella meckelfeldensis Zone in western parts of the Hampshire Basin.
