Renaming the Mediterranean Sphaeroidinellopsis subdehiscens Zone

Abstract
The extinction of the foraminiferal genus Sphaeroidinellopsis is confirmed as a valuable datum for the Mediterranean area. As a consequence of the review of the genus made in the last years, it is proposed that the Pliocene Sphaeroidinellopsis subdehiscens Interval-zone be renamed Sphaeroidinellopsis seminulina Interval-zone. The determinations of Sphaeroidinellopsis, as previously illustrated by the present author, are rectified accordingly.
