A revision of the zonal classification of the Lower Lias of the Dorset coast in South-West England
Palmer, Charles Philip
published: Mar 15, 1972
Stress is laid upon the importance, as a potential strato-type, of the English Lower Liassic coastal sections in Devon and Dorset. LANG's zonal divisions are redistributed within the zones and subzones proposed for the N.W. European Province by DEAN, DONOVAN and HOWARTH 1961. Arguments for the placing of stratigraphical boundaries are offered. Stratigraphical topics are discussed.
