Inhalt. [Die Geschiebestatistik als stratigraphische Hilfsmethode - Beispiel Schleswig-Holstein -] Sedimentstatistische Verfahren sind schon lange - Beispiel: Schwer- oder Leitmineralanalyse - als Hilfsmittel bei der Klärung Stratigraphischer Fragen im Einsatz. Wenn man sie nicht überschätzt und die statistischen Bestimmungen auf biostratigraphisch sicher eingehängte Proben stützt, kann auch die Geschiebezählung zu brauchbaren quartär-stratigraphischen Aussagen führen. Das wird am Beispiel des schleswig-holsteinischen Pleistozäns demonstriert. Die Moränenbildungen und Schmelzwasserabsätze der dort nachweisbaren Vereisungen lassen sich gut unterscheiden.
Abstract
Statistical methods regarding sediments - for example heavy and light mineral analysis - have already been used for some time to clarify stratigraphic problems. If one does not overrate them and the statistical analysis is supported by biostratigraphically controlled samples, the erratic boulder statistics can also lead to useful Quaternary stratigraphic conclusions. This is illustrated by the Schleswig-Holstein Pleistocene. The age of moraines and glacifluviatile deposits of the glaciations proven there can be differentiated quite well.
