Four fluorescent lichens (Lecanora-, Buellia-, Laurera- and Trypethelium-species) are investigated by means of cathodoluminescence and X-ray microanalysis in the scanning electron microscope. These modern methods are convenient for studying the topography of lichen products and for separating crystals of lichen acids from other organic compounds and minerals.
