Silica-scaled chrysophytes from the Amazonian region in Colombia

Silica-scaled chrysophytes were studied from Tipisca Lake and Amacayacu River, situated in the National Park of Amacayacu. Department ofAmazonas, Colombia, which are connected with the Amazonas River Basin. Thirteen species were studied, nine of them are new records for this country. Chrysosphaerella coronacircumspina is recorded for the first time in American tropical areas. The tropical distribution of Mallomonas peronoides var. bangladeshica, M. matvienkoae var. grandis, M. mangofera var. reticulata and M. portae-ferreae var. reticulata is confirmed.
