Abstract

Based on two small, new bryophyte collections from Socotra and the Yemen mainland (Hadramout, Aden), seven interesting mosses new to the regional floras are reported. Five of them belong to the palaeo- or pantropical genoelement, re-emphasizing the tropical influence and character of the southwestern Arabian Peninsula and the Socotra archipelago close to the horn of Africa.
