Abstract

Polycoccum epizoharyi Calatayud & V. Atienza, a lichenicolous fungus growing in thalli of Buellia zoharyi Galun, is described as a new species from central Spain (Madrid). It is chiefly characterised by producing galls in the host thallus, by its 4-spored asci and, to some extent, by a I+ violet reaction of the hymenial gelatine. The characters of the new taxon are discussed in relation to other species of the genus.

Polycoccum epizoharyi Calatayud & V. Atienza, una nueva especie de hongo liquenícola sobre Buellia zoharyi Galun, se describe del centro de Espana (Madrid). Se caracteriza principalmente por producir agallas en el talo del huesped, por los ascos tetrasporados y, hasta cierto punto, por la reacción I+ violácea de la gelatinó himenial. Los caracteres del nuevo taxon se discuten en relaci6n con otras especies del genero.
