Abstract

Monodictys desquamata anam. sp. nov. is characterized by muriform conidia with conspicuous external cells protruding and detaching easily from the outer surface. The fungus was isolated from fallen bark of an unidentified tree collected in a rain forest in Cuba. Although the fungus was recalcitrant for sporulating "in vitro", successful results were obtained using different techniques.
