Abstract

On the basis of a phytosociological analysis a new bryophytic association, Grimmietum capillatae, found in many towns of central Sicily (Nicosia, Leonforte, Assoro, Calascibetta, Enna, Aidone, Piazza Armerina), is described. Its structure, floristic composition, ecological and phytogeographical aspects are discussed.
