New records of bryophytes from Afghanistan with a note on the bryological exploration of the country
Frey, Wolfgang Kürschner
17 new records (one liverwort, Riccardia palmata, and 16 mosses) were added to the bryoflora of Afghanistan. The new findings concentrate mainly at the eastern and north-eastern part of the country. Outstanding among the new records are Campylostelium saxicola and Pohlia andalusica, both new to the flora of Southwest Asia. Pohlia tortifolia, a new combination, is recorded for the first time since the type collection in 1962.
