Abstract

The present paper focuses on flora of silica-scaled chrysophytes from tropical reservoirs in Vietnam. The use of electron microscopy technique allowed for the discovery of 18 taxa in eight reservoirs. In the class Chrysophyceae, two species belonging to two genera (Chrysosphaerella, Paraphysomonas) were found. In the class Synurophyceae, 13 species and a single variety of the genus Mallomonas have been recorded and two species belonging to the genus Synura were found. Seventeen taxa are reported for the first time from Vietnam.
