Abstract
A revised moss checklist for Brazil recognizes 892 species of mosses in 255 genera and 70 families. Endemic taxa comprise 23% of the known flora. The Brazilian distribution, altitudinal range in the country, and world distribution are provided for all species. A list of 383 excluded species is provided.
