Plant-Insect Interactions in Deep Time: Contributions from the 8th International Organisation of Palaeobotany Conference in Bonn, Germany, August 30 – September 5, 2008

Wappler, Torsten

Since the Early Devonian, plants and animals have interacted with one another on many different levels and in many different ways. Although these relationships may range from simple to complex, they basically boil down to the 3 P’s: predation (mostly herbivory by animals), protection (shelter provided by a plant host), and pollination (a mutually beneficial relationship).
