Abstract
Analysis of large frond fragments of Barthelopteris germarii, from the Late Pennsylvanian (Stephanian) of the Blanzy-Montceau Basin (Massif Central, France), shows that the frond is of the bifurcate “outer” semi-pinnate type. Frond reconstructions of this species are proposed. A few preliminary comments on the various morphological characteristics of the fronds within the Neuropterids and the Odontopterids are presented.

L’analyse de grands fragments de frondes de Barthelopteris germarii provenant du Pennsylvanien supérieur (Stéphanien) du bassin de Blanzy-Montceau (Massif Central, France) montre que la fronde est de type bifurqué semi-pinné “externe”. Des reconstitutions de la fronde de cette espèce sont proposées. Quelques commentaires préliminaires sur les diverses caractéristiques morphologiques des frondes au sein des Neuroptéridées et des Odontoptéridées sont présentés.
