Abstract

Phytocoenotic description of habitats occupied by Hierochloë repens (Host) Simonkai, a new species for the flora of Bydgoszcz were carried out within Bydgoszcz and its environs in June 2007. They comprised an inventory of current localities of Hierochloë repens and their phytosociological documentation, i.e. 13 relevès made according to the well-known Braun-Blanquet's method modified by Barkman. The presented analysis of phytocoenoses with a presence of Hierochloë repens has confirmed that it is a new invasive species in Poland. A range of its ecological amplitude is quite broad and in consequence the species invades various types of habitats, spreading mainly along roads. Hierochloë repens increases its areal rapidly due to a high potential of its ability to proliferate asexually.
