Mecklenburg-Vorpommern contains about 40 ombrotrophic bogs belonging to the northwest-central European and the Baltic raised bog province, which are mostly disturbed by drainage and peat cutting. To reconstruct the development and ancient peat forming vegetation, macrofossils have been analysed. In this paper, four new macrofossil diagrams are presented and an overview over the ancient flora of eight bogs is given. The results are discussed with respect to the recent distribution of oceanic vascular plant and moss species.
