Plant communities of Crithmo-Staticion Molinier 1934 (Class Crithmo-Staticetea Br.-Bl. in Br.-Bl., Roussine & Nègre 1952) in the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Isles. A revision of the vascular plant communities of Crithmo-Staticion growing in the eastern Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Isles is reported. Twenty-two associations usually dominated by Crithmum maritimum and taxa of Limonium are commented, and summarised data on their nomenclatural type, floristic composition, ecology and biogeography are also presented. A new Dianic association (Crithmo-Limonietum rigualii), a new Alicantine subassociation (Limonio cossoniani-Lycietum intricati subass. limonietosum parvibracteati) and three new Menorcan associations (Limonietum minuto-fontqueri, Limonietum artruchio-minuti and Santolino magonicae-Limonietum biflori) are described. Moreover, two name corrections (Dauco majorici-Limonietum marisolii, Dauco hispanici-Limonietum biflori), a lectotypification (Crithmo-Helichrysetum decumbentis) and a name inversion (Soncho-Daucetum commutati) are proposed. Synthetic tables showing floristic relationships among all considered syntaxa are made from both bibliographic and original data. Comments on conservation of those fragile ecosystems are also included.
