Abstract

The paper presents, in a uniform phytogeographic and ecological conception, all phytosociological material of acidophilous mire vegetation in the Roumanian Carpathians; the following associations are treated: Caricetum limosae Br.-Bl. 1921, Rhynchosporetum albae Koch 1926, Caricetum lasiocarpae Koch 1926, Caricetum diandrae Jon. 1932 em. Oberd. 1957, Junco-Caricetum fuscae Tx. (1937) 1952, Carici dacicae-Plantaginetum gentianiodis Bosc. et al. 1972, Eriophoretum scheuchzeri Rübel 1912, Sphagno-Caricetum rostratae Steffen 1931 and carici stellulatae-Sphagnetum Soó (1934) 1954. These associations are divided by differential species into 13 subassociations, which mostly reflect the syndynamic processes of these mire phytocoenoses.
