Abstract (German)
Eine kurze Überschau der geologischen und telefonischen Entwicklung der aus einer Orthogeosynklinale erwachsenen Japanischen Inseln und speziell der Strukturen und Alter ihrer Hauptgebirgsbildungen mit Plutonismus und Regionalmetamorphose wird gegeben. Mit Hilfe geologischer Fakten sowie geophysikalischer Daten der Schwere, des Wärmeflusses und des Krustenaufbaues wird versucht, eine Deutung für die Herausbildung des Inselbogens und Randmeeres wahrscheinlich zu machen. Deren Ursachen dürften in isostatischen Veränderungen infolge von Leichtmassenerhaltung und -ansammlung einerseits sowie in Schwermassenzufuhr anderseits zu suchen sein, die letztlich mit thermischen Antriebsvorgängen zusammenhängen.
Abstract
A short outline about the geological and tectonical development of the Japanese Islands, which originated from an orthogeosyncline, is given in the following article. Structures and age of its main orogenies with plutonism and regional metamorphism are especially taken into consideration. With the help of geological facts as well as geophysical data of gravity, heatflow and the structure of the crust it is being tried to give an interpretation of the genesis of the Island arc and its marginal sea. The causes may be found in isostatic changes because of light masses being preserved and accumulated on the one hand, as well as heavy masses being transported into this area on the other hand, which might have its origin in thermic processes.
