Abstract (German)
Die Kenntnisse über das Maastricht im prätertiären Untergrund Nordwestdeutschlands wurden beträchtlich erweitert durch eine Vielzahl von Bohrungen, die auf der Suche nach Erdöl und Erdgas abgeteuft wurden. Das Maastricht wird durch drei Hauptfaziestypen vertreten (Schreibkreide-, Reitbrooker und Steinförder Fazies), deren regionale Verbreitung und stratigraphische Stellung präzisiert werden konnten. Die Ergebnisse ermöglichen eine genauere Rekonstruktion der paläogeographischen Verhältnisse und sind auch für praktische Belange von Bedeutung.
Abstract
The knowledge of the Maastrichtian in the pretertiary subsurface of NW Germany could be broadened considerably by a great number of wells which were drilled in the search for oil and gas. The Maastrichtian is represented by three main facies types (Chalk, Reitbrook, Steinfoerde). Their regional distribution and stratigraphic position could be worked out more precisely. The results allow a reconstruction of the paleogeographic conditions and are of significance for practical purposes as well.
