Abstract (German)

Im Steinbruch der Vereinigten Rhön Basalt Werke am Südrand der ehemaligen Braunkohlenzeche "Einigkeit" bei Bischofsheim a.d. Rhön sind über 70 m erschlossenem Basalt tertiäre Braunkohlen, Tone und Tuffite aufgeschlossen.

Abstract

70 m basalt overlaid by Tertiary brown-coals, clays and tuffites is open up in a quarry on the southern part of the former brown-coal mine "Einigkeit" nearby the village of Bischofsheim a.d. Rhön. A new found macroflora dated Early Miocene up to Middle Miocene (KELBER & GREGOR 1987) makes possible to correlate the phytostratigraphic observations with the K/Ar Age Determination of the Tertiary volcanic activity in the Rhön area (LIPPOLT 1978, 1982). But each correlation presuppose the Clearing up of the basaltic betting conditions to the brown-coal.
