Meteorological Calendar 2013

In 2014, the 30st Meteorological Calendar to be published since 1983 is once again available as the European Meteorological Calendar 2014. As in previous years it is being published on behalf of the German Meteorological Society (DMG).

The calendar comprises 13 full-colour pages that depict a diverse range of meteorological phenomena: foehn and thunderstorm clouds, dust storms, high fog, haloes, northern lights, noctilucent clouds, stratospheric clouds and 'the land of Fairy Tales'. The EMS has kindly contributed winning photographs from its Europhoto-meteo competition, as has Fernando BullÛn from the Spanish Meteorological Society (AME). All the images are explained in a scientific but nevertheless readily understandable manner. The reverse sides of the calendar pages feature texts, images, diagrams and explanations on the topic of 'tropical meteorology'. The calendar provides an insight into the diversity of meteorological work, which can only be dealt with internationally. In addition, further thematic aspects are presented with a series of 13 special tropical phenomena, with brief texts.
