This volume deals with the impact of UV-B radiation on pelagic freshwater ecosystems. Solar radiation is the primary source of energy in most natural ecosystems. It plays a pivotal role in regulating energy and material flow as well as the distribution and abundance of organisms.

Der vorliegende Band befasst sich mit den Auswirkungen der UV-B-Strahlung auf die pelagischen Ökosysteme des Süßwassers. Für die meisten Ökosysteme ist Sonnenstrahlung die wichtigste Energiequelle und spielt bei der Regulierung von Energie- und Stoffströmen sowie bei der Verbreitung von Organismen eine entscheidende Rolle.
