Abhandlungen der Preußischen Geologischen Landesanstalt
Edited by the Geological Survey of Prussia (Preussische Geologische Landesanstalt)
209 volumes were published between 1871 and 1944, of which 155
are still on stock and available for purchase.
Abhandlungen der Preussischen Geologischen Landesanstalt (Monographs of the Geological Survey of Prussia) cover individual topics of soil science, hydrology, lithology stratigraphy tectonics, mineral and energy resources (in particular coal), geophysics, paleontology and vegetation in Germany and its possessions between 1907 and 1944. Among them are classical works on the geology and stratigraphy of Germany at that time. The indivdual volumes are in the German language. The Geological Survey of Prussia was the predecessor organization of todays German Geological Survey (BGR), of NLfB (Niedersächsisches Landesamt für Bodenforschung) and GGA (Organization for joint projects in the geosciences). It was established after it became clear, that the budding industrialization of the 19th century would require increasing amounts of mineral-, ore- and energy resources.

[Geological guidebook series]
ISSN: 0343-737X
The volumes of Sammlung Geologischer Führer (Geological Guidebook Series), published since 1897, cover the geology of various regions, most of them in Germany and German-speaking countries but not confined to them (e.g. Namibia, Italy, Greece, etc.). Most of the volumes are in German, though at least the most recent is in English. They are in a handy pocket-size format suited for packing on field trips and generally feature two parts. After introducing the general geological setting of the covered region, an excursion guide part features numerous field trip routes that explore obvious and subtle features of the regional geology.

Ziegler Catalogue of Conodonts
The usefulness of conodonts in biostratigraphy, from the Cambrian to the Triassic and the increasing flow of
taxonomic descriptions made it both necessary and justifiable to compile the significant set of data on genera
and species in a catalogue. It fills a gap in the literature, by providing diagnostic descriptions of all significant conodont taxa.
