"Anthropologischer Anzeiger" is an international scholarly journal publishing peer-reviewed papers on all areas of physical anthropology. Topics cover results of current research on population genetics, primatology, morphology, growth and development, forensic anthropology, and, wide ranging in its area of interest, the evolution of hominids, paleoanthropology and historical anthropology.

Most contributions are in the English language with a small number of German language papers. All papers carry English abstracts.
