Abstract
In an eutrophicated pond near San Luis, Pinar del Rio, Cuba, a very rich population of a new Dictyosphaerium species was found. In the present paper the main features of this alga, named Dictyosphaerium coacervatum sp. nova, are described and compared with morphologically related species of the genus.
