Abstract
Lacustrine organic fibrils form coatings on many kinds of sedimenting particles and submerged surfaces. Using a small experimental lake, one can relate fibril concentration, fibril chemistry and some aspects of the coating process. Polysaccharidic fibrils may be, potentially, a dominant factor in interactions between lake water and suspended materials when the relative fibril concentration is high.
