Abstract

In November 1988 the "Archiv für Hydrobiologie" appeared with the names of new editors on the cover. After nearly 30 years of continuing service for the journal by Hans-Joachim Elster and Waldemar Ohle, the editorship had been taken over by Hartmut Kausch and Winfried Lampert. A new Editorial Board was established at the same time. In the meantime, we have processed more than 1100 manuscripts for the main series of the journal. Although nothing can be perfect, the general response to the new editorial policy has been positive.
