Abstract
The pre-impoundment and immediate post-innundation observations of the physical hydrology of the river Oshun are reported in this communication. Before the closure of the Asejire dam, the physical hydrology was closely related to the climatic factors of which rainfall was the most important. The changes observed in the physical hydrology of the river after the closure of the dam were associated with the change from a lotic to a lentic environment.
