Abstract
Experiments with moderately stirred water in laboratory vessels showed values of net diffusivity for CO2 across the air-water interface of 10 (exit) and 17 (entrance) mmol m-2 day-t at the normal atmospheric gradient. The exchange at air-equilibrium conditions was 14 mmol m-2 day-t, thus the gross flux of CO2 represents twice the net flux. Various equations for diffusivity of O2 are applied to CO2. These equations are reviewed and converted to metric units where necessary.
