Abstract
Among materials collected in 1958 in Adzhariya (USSR) by Professor Adolf Riedel, and preserved in the collection of the Institute of Zoology, Polish Academy of Sciences (Warsaw), there were several dozen specimens of Leiostyla R. T. Lowe 1852. Of all the species of the genus they resembled only silicea (Shileyko 1975) and schweigeri Götting 1963, from which, however, they differed in some important shell characters. Their reproductive system conformed to neither drawing nor description by Hudec & Lezhava (1969) who had apparently dealt with silicea (Shil.). For these reasons I feel justified in describing them as a new species.
