Kurzfassung
Die Sorale von Hypogymnia physodes zeigen beim Anfeuchten mit flüssigem Wasser reversible hygroskopische Bewegungen, durch die die Verbreitung der Soredien gefördert wird. Die Bewegung beruht auf der unterschiedlichen Benetzbarkeit von Rindengewebe und Soral.
Abstract
The soralia of Hypogymnia physodes show reversible hygroscopic movements when wetted by liquid water. The movements are of importance in the dispersal of soredia. The movement is the result of the difference in water absorption of the thallus-cortex and the non-wettable surface of the soralia.
