Abstract
Phase relations of the condensed 4-component system Cu-Ag-S-Se at 300 °C are characterized by tie lines connecting the solid solution series Ag2(S,Se) with the series Cu2(S,Se) and Cu(S,Se) and with the three ternary phases on the marginal Cu-Ag-S system. They define, within the composition tetrahedron, a wedge-shaped portion of mineralogical interest. The higher affinity of copper for sulfur, and silver for selenium, are indicated by the respective stable assemblages.
