Abstract

This collection of short, well condensed articles, most of which in the form of an extended abstract, represents the latest contributions directly or indirectly associated with research projects of the Experimental Laboratory at the Mineralogisch-Petrographisches Institut der Universität Heidelberg. Under the late Prof. Dr. Günter H. Moh (1929-1993) who headed this lab since 1964, an “Annual Report” of works performed in the lab was regularly published in the Neues Jahrbuch für Mineralogie nine times with contributions from his colleagues, students and invited guests. The spectrum of covered topics ranged from systematic sulfide phase equilibrium studies, new synthetic and analytical methods, crystallography, to paragenetic aspects of various ore deposits interpreted in terms of the acquired new experimental data. The increasing interest on selenides and tellurides in recent years has stimulated a systematic study of these two mineral groups and their relationship to the intensively studied sulfides and sulfosalts. Initially, this was also the focus planned for the tenth “Annual Report”. For this tenth, perhaps last issue of the “Report”, the interrupted work was left to the present editor to complete. Where available, he collected from the colleagues the still unpublished results for a joint publication. Despite the fact that the research originated in the same common project, the articles remain mostly independent and are not interrelated.
