Abstract
New roentgenographic, microscopical and analytical studies have been carried out on crystals of bixbyite from the “Valle de las Plumas” (Province of Chubut, Argentina). These studies establish the presence of tetrahedrite among the crystals. The infrared spectra of bixbyite and tetrahedrite are also recorded and briefly discussed. New comments about the probable origin of the minerals are presented.
Kurzfassung
Bixbyit-Kristalle aus dem „Valle de las Plumas“ (Provinz Chubut, Argentinien) wurden erneut röntgenographisch, mikroskopisch und analytisch untersucht. Die Kristalle sind vergesellschaftet mit Tetrahedrit. Die Infrarotspektren von Bixbyit und Tetrahedrit wurden aufgenommen und kurz besprochen. Auch über den möglichen Ursprung dieser Minerale werden neue Kommentare gemacht.
