Kurzfassung
Raumgruppe (D2h6-Pbnn) und Gitterkonstanten (a = 9.598 Å, b = 16,141 Å, c = 22,519 Å, Z = 12) wurden neu bestimmt. Mit Hilfe von Kugelpackungsüberlegungen wurde ein Strukturmodell abgeleitet. Unter Verwendung geschätzter Intensitäten ließ sich die Struktur bis zu einem R-Wert von 0,122 verfeinern. Die Carnallitstruktur ist homöotyp zur Struktur des hexagonalen BaTiO3 und zeigt damit eine Verwandtschaft zum Perowskittyp.
Abstract
Space group (D2h6-Pbnn) and lattice constants (a = 9.598 Å, b = 16.141 Å, c = 22.519 Å, Z = 12) have been redetermined. A model structure has been deduced by using sphere-packing considerations. On the basis of estimated intensities the structure could be refined to an R-value of 0.122. The structure of carnallite is a homeotype to the structure of hexagonal BaTiO3 and therefore shows a relation to the perovskite type.
