Abstract
The hydrothermal synthesis of crandallite is described and the habit of the synthetic material related to that of a specimen from the Duchess phosphate deposit in Queensland. X-ray powder diffraction data for the synthetic material are reported and the refined hexagonal cell deduced from them is a = 6.989 (1), c = 16.169 (5) Å.
