Abstract

Boron adsorption on freshly prepared and on well crystallized Mg(OH)2 was studied. Freshly prepared Mg(OH)2 appeared the lowest crystallinity and the highest specific surface area. This material adsorbed more than the double B quantity compared with the well crystallized Mg(OH)2. The adsorption occurred on surface Mg-OH groups. The adsorption capacity was not reduced with time. The experimental data conformed well to both Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms.
