Abstract
Hypocreopsis lichenoides, one of the most easily identifiable ascomycetes, is distinguished by its size, colour, and the finger-like forms of its stromata. It grows mostly on dead branches of both coniferous and deciduous trees and shrubs, especially on Salix spp. and Corylus avellana. This paper describes the morphology and ecology of Hypocreopsis lichenoides, as well as its distribution in Poland.
