Abstract
A geomorphology of weathering forms by climatic zones was presented by Wilhelmy as early as 1958. Only rarely will forms having originated under different climates be found on a rock surface, that are so intercalated that an age sequence can be derived at, as is the case on Ayers Rock (Bremer 1965). In the following only those special weathering forms will be dealt with that are frequent and/or allow conclusions on landscape history. They have come into being on the surface of rock outcrops or subterraneously.
