Meteorological Wall and Postcard Calendars 2020

The theme of the 2020 Meteorological Calendar is "Weather, Climate and Volcanoes". We would therefore like to simultaneously share with you two fascinating worlds – the world of meteorology and volcanoes. You will find both general reviews of volcanism and how it impacts climate at the same time also texts, which deal with particular aspects of volcanic eruptions.

Such aspects, for example, are emissions from Mount Pinatubo volcano (Philippines) into the stratosphere and volcanic lightning, a phenomenon that has only recently been subject to more intensive research. Others are on more or less constantly active volcanoes, such as Shishaldin volcano of Alaska, and on such volcanoes that are known for large, destructive eruptions, such as Tambora volcano of Indonesia.

The 2020 Meteorological Calendar introduces you to the world of old weather records and modern satellite data. Read how predictably climate develops after major eruptions, and widen your meteorological horizon to understand both the social consequences of major volcanic eruptions and their impact on contemporary painting and literature.
