In the second, the Proterozoic volcanic rocks of the Barrandian are considered from the point of view of the evolution of chemical composition, and their stratigraphical significance is described. Further papers focus on the origin and petrological interpretation of individual rock-forming minerals. These include studies of the origin of atollic garnets in metamorphic rocks, grunerite and almandine in quartzites, and hornblende in rocks of gabbroic composition.
An article on an experimental study to determine the conditions of formation of synthetic calcium chromates is also included.
Two articles focus on interpretation of the so called Sevetin astrobleme located in the Moldanubian region (South Bohemia). The first article argues that its origin is not the result of an impact, but explains the structure as a volcanic feature. The second contribution interprets Sevetin astrobleme} as the result of the complex tectonic evolution of an area situated at the intersection of two important fault structures.
